2020 광주인권상 수상자 소감문 [전문]
Ladies and gentlemen,
신사 숙녀 여러분,
It is a great honor for me to stand here today.
오늘 이 자리에 서게 되어 정말 영광스럽습니다.
I am deeply humbled by the nomination for the 2020 Gwangju Prize for Human Rights, and to join the great list of past recipients of this great award.
2020광주인권상 수상자로 지명되어, 과거의 훌룡한 수상자분들과 발걸음을 함께 할 수 있게 되어 진심으로 감사를 드립니다.
First of all, I thank Mr. Moon Kyoo-hyun, Chief of the Screening Committee of the 2020 Gwangju Prize for Human Rights, and the members who have decided me as this year’s Winner.
우선 2020광주인권상 심사위원장인 문규현심사위원장님과 저를 올해의 수상자로 지지해 주신 위원님들께 감사드립니다.
I am greatly indebted to the late founders of YPKP 65: Mr. Pramoedya Ananta Toer, Mr. Koesalah, Mrs. Sulami, Mrs. Sumini, Mr. Hasan Raid, Mr. Suharno and Mrs. Ribka Tjiptaning
YPKP65 창립자인 프라모에디야 야난타 투르 님, 코에살라 님, 술라미 님, 수미니 님, 하산 라이드 님, 수하르노 님과 리브카 치프타닝 님에게도 마음에서 우러나오는 큰 감사를 드립니다.
I also thank for unwavering support; Mr. Andreas Harsono, the human rights activist who nominated me for this award; and Mr. Mugiyanto, a victim of enforced disappearance, who acted as my Referee.
저를 지명해주신 인권 운동가 안드레아스 할소노 님과 저를 적극적으로 추천해주신 강제 실종의 희생자 무기얀토 님의 변함없는 지지에 감사드립니다.
Above all, I thank to YPKP 65 volunteers, who work hard and contribute to the organization’s research and advocacy.
무엇보다도 우리 단체의 활동과 신념을 지지해 온 마음을 다해 활동하시는 YPKP65 자원봉사자님들께 감사드립니다.
Tirelessly, they collect data on both survivors and the dead, record sites of torture, and identify mass graves that scattered throughout Indonesia.
그들은 지칠 줄 모른 채 생존자와 사망자 대한 자료를 수집하고, 고문 현장을 기록하고 인도네시아 전역에 흩어져 있는 많은 무덤들을 찾아 신원을 확인했습니다.
This prestigious award actually belongs to them.
이 권위 있는 상은 사실 그분들을 위한 것입니다.
It serves as a recognition of their unrelenting efforts in promoting truth, justice and memory about past human rights violations.
과거에 벌어졌던 인권 침해에 대한 진실을 알리고, 정의를 바로 세우며, 세상이 기억할 수 있도록 끊임없이 노력해주신 그 분들을 위한 것입니다.
Please, allow me to accept this year’s Gwangju Prize for Human Rights on their behalf— victims of genocide 1965.
올해의 광주 인권상은 제가 받는 것이 아니라 1965년 인도네시아 대학살 피해자들을 대신해서 받는 상입니다.
The Gwangju Prize for Human Rights, bestowed by the May 18 Memorial Foundation, motivates us, 1965 Indonesian genocide victims, to keep fighting for our rights.
5.18기념재단이 수여하는 광주인권상은 1965년 인도네시아 대학살 피해자인 저희가 우리의 권리를 위해 계속해서 투쟁할 수 있는 의지를 높이고 있습니다.
We learned a lot from the courage and resilience of those that participated in the Gwangju Democratic Uprising.
저희는 광주민주화운동에 참여했던 사람들의 용기와 굴하지 않는 의지에서 많은 것을 배웠습니다.
They sacrificed themselves for the nation, and brought down Chun Doo-hwan’s dictatorship.
그들은 나라를 위해 희생했고 전두환 독재 정권을 무너뜨렸습니다.
This resonates deeply with us, and I hope the Gwangju spirit of resistance continues to inspire democratic movements around the world, including in our country.
이는 우리의 가슴 깊은 곳을 울렸습니다. 저는 광주의 정신이 우리나라를 비롯한 전 세계의 민주화 운동에 지속적으로 영감을 불어넣을 수 있기를 바랍니다.
When I learned that I have been chosen as this year’s Laureate, my memory immediately drifted back to the 1965/1966 tragedy, which affected millions,not only me.
제가 올해의 수상자로 선정되었다는 것을 알았을 때, 저는 즉시 저뿐만 아니라 수백만 사람들에게 영향을 끼친 1965-1966년의 비극을 떠올렸습니다.
Between 500,000 to 3,000,000 people thought to be affiliated with later President Sukarno followers and Indonesian Communist Party were killed.
고 수카르노 대통령과 인도네시아 공산당에 소속된 것으로 추정되는 50-300만명이 살해되었습니다.
Those who escaped death, spent years in prison without due process of law.
간신히 죽음을 면한 사람들은 정당한 법 절차 없이 몇 년을 감옥에서 보냈습니다 .
After release from prison in 1979, and even now, victims still experience persecution, intimidation, and terror.
1979년 출소한 뒤 지금까지도 피해자들은 박해와 협박, 두려움 속에 살아가고 있습니다.
To this day, the Indonesian state continues to deny its active role in the tragedy.
인도네시아 정부는 오늘날까지 이 비극적인 사건에 적극적인 역할을 했다는 것을 계속해서 부인하고 있습니다.
On this very special occasion, we urge the Indonesian government, notably, President Joko Widodo, to learn from South Korea’s example.
오늘 특별한 날을 맞아, 저희는 인도네시아 정부, 특히 조코 위도도 대통령이 한국의 사례를 보고 배울 것을 강력히 촉구합니다
The government must
• acknowledge and take responsibility of crimes against humanity and gross human rights violations committed by the state;
국가가 저지른 비인도적인 범죄 및 인권침해를 인정하고 책임을 질 것.
• uphold victims’ rights to truth, justice, and recovery, and establish an ad hoc Human Rights Court, as was recommended by the National Commission of Human Rights.
진실, 정의, 회복에 대한 피해자의 권리를 지키고 국가인권위원회의 권고에 따라 특별인권법원을 제정할 것.
YPKP 65 vows to continue to our work on truth and justice, together with the Indonesian civil society movement, as well as across borders.
YPKP65는 진실과 정의를 위해 인도네시아뿐만 아니라, 국경을 넘어서 시민사회 운동을 계속 함께할 것을 맹세합니다.
Recognizing our nations’ parallel democratic struggles, we extend unfailing solidarity and comradeship to our Korean friends.
우리는 우리나라와 비슷한 한국의 민주주의 투쟁을 보면서, 한국 친구들을 향한 변함없는 연대와 동지애를 키워가고 있습니다.
May the May 18 Movement serve as a flaming torch that illuminates our path as we build a New World order, that upholds Human Rights and Democracy.
우리는 인권과 민주주의를 옹호하는 새로운 세계 질서를 확립하고자 합니다. 저는 5·18이 우리가 가는 길을 밝히는 횃불이 되어주기를 바랍니다.
Last but not least, special thanks to Mr. Liem Dongchan who has composed and play Genjer-Genjer in an Orchestra with beautiful composition and harmony.
마지막으로 아름다운 하모니가 어우려지는 오케스트라 곡, Genjer- Genjer를 작곡하고 지휘해주신 임동창 님께 특별한 감사의 말씀을 드립니다.
And I can not wait too long to listen the special Tribute Song for me.
저를 위해 준비해 주신 헌정곡이 정말 기대됩니다.
It is a symbol of solidarity and friendship between the people of Korea and Indonesia.
이것은 한국과 인도네시아 국민의 연대와 우정을 의미합니다.
